Diasiva - Thirst
IOD039// Diasiva - Thirst EP
Produced in a symbiosis of perfectly unaligned and uncalibrated modular
synthesis, “Thirst” is Diasiva pushing current DSP technology to its edges, their sound is informed by a weekly meeting of sonic experimentation and exploration in their Neukölln studio, drawing inspiration from the detritus of West Berlin. “Thirst” represents the ongoing evolution of Diasiva from sledge-hammer logic into expression in motion, welding IDM & deconstructed breaks to pure sonic abstraction, embracing visions of a brighter future yet leading curious eyes toward the ever present darkness, holding the hand of the likeminded, marching together toward the abyss.
Diasiva are Monolog and Swarm Intelligence, formed in 2011 for the first edition of Burn The Machine Festival in Subland, Berlin, playing numerous live sets around Berlin after this, including the following Burn the Machine. In 2016, they released their debut LP “Doublefade” on the seminal Ohm Resistance label, later that year, they released “Sabo” on Monolog & Subtrakt imprint, 2017 saw their Station 1805 EP released on Acroplane. The duo now returns for their debut EP on Instruments of Discipline.

Philippe Vandal - Umwelt
Visual Art:
Syndrom IX
Umwelt by Philippe Vandal
Philippe Vandal is a Montreal-based instrumentalist and producer concerned with the creation of structures and landscapes in a sonic medium. He has released work with notable experimental labels Jeunesse Cosmique, Phinery, Never Anything and Archive Officielle among others. His most recent serving of sonic architecture is accompanied with visual interpretations of the compositions, rendered in 3D digital interfaces. The forms and structures of each track are mimicked in their static statuesque nature, brought to life by the characterization and time based movement of the sound. Each calls to the listeners mind a glistening dreamy landscape where form is vague and not quite as it seems. Gravity seems to subside as small details of the sculptures tangent into the spatial cosmos. The tracks evolve outlining and detailing the grotesque eco-systems they have birthed, providing the listener a brief glimpse into what was previously conceived as structural impossibility.

Diagnostic - Repercussions
Diagnostic - Repercussions
JCDAL are the series of the CD album releases.
The first album release (JCDAL001) is from the talented Belgian sound and graphic designer Jan Robbe (Diagnostic, UndaCova, Atomhead and Erratic). Having started using trackers in mid 90's, his passion for music and sound grew as the software matured, culminating first in the UndaCova project (1996-2006). A first vinyl release on Belgian (now defunct) Bliip Recordings "Metamood Katalyst" (2002) raised eyebrows and interest due to its intricate fusion of IDM and Breakcore - heavily sporting complex polyrhythms and abstract sound design.
Taking a long hiatus from live performance and extreme BPM's, work began on the Diagnostic project. Diagnostic is entirely different from Jan's earlier work. His sound evolved into fields of sci-fi-post-cyberpunk, experimental and noise sound. Through this project he wants to show the people the core of his music fantasy.
The debut album "Repercussions" took a whole 3 years to complete. Listening to this piece of art leaves no one indifferent, guiding us to explore the raw explosiveness of glitched industrial sound design, as well as taking trips through the edges of space.
This 19 track album also contain remixes from: SYYT, Qliphoth, Aethereal Arthropod, Katran (Ontal), KK Null and Krystal Jesus (La Peste)

Meitei - Komachi
Following the 2018 reissue of Kwaidan on cassette label
Evening Chants, Komachi represents Meitei's debut
full-length vinyl release and first original material of the year.
Meitei considers himself an old soul, often preoccupied with
the customs and rituals of the past. Recently, Meitei lost his beloved 99-year-old grandmother, a woman whom he considered to be one of the last remaining people to have experience and understanding of traditional Japanese
ambience. His music and art is driven by a desire to cast light
on an era and aesthetic that he believes is drifting out of the collective Japanese consciousness with each passing
generation, what he has called "the lost Japanese mood."
He chose to dedicate Komachi to his late Grandmother.
“I want to revive the soul of Japan that still sleeps in the darkness," he says.
Haunting and delicate, distant and timeless, Komachi is awash with white noise, complex field recordings, and the hypnotic sounds of flowing water. Though contemporary, Komachi’s lineage can be traced back to the floating worlds of Ukiyo-e
and Gagaku via the prism of '80s Japanese ambient pioneers, and '90s pastoral sample-based artists such as Susumu
Yokota and Nobukazu Takemura.
Composed as individual sonic dioramas, each of the 12 tracks has been crafted to not only evoke feelings of nostalgia but to also explore the dichotomy of ancient and new in modern Japanese society.
The limited vinyl release, produced in collaboration with label and distributor Séance Centre, is set for release March 15, including a special edition complete with beautiful 12-page booklet featuring a number of prints in the Ukiyo-e style, a traditional style of woodblock print that dates back to 17th century Japan. The images were chosen by Meitei to showcase the old style Japanese sentiments that form a core inspiration
to his musical output.
